For teams
You already payfor the desks
An office, a coworking floor, a home setup with two monitors. Your people have somewhere to sit and the work still slides a week. What a focus room adds is two hours nobody can book over, seven other people who know what you said you would finish, and someone asking about it at eleven.
Three ways in
Pick the one that matches your problem.
They cost different amounts and solve different things. If you are not sure which, say so on the form and we will work it out on the call; the answer is usually not the one people arrive with.
A closed run for one team
Twelve mornings, your people only, our facilitator. In one of our rooms, on a call, or at your office if it has a door that shuts. The room is locked to your team, so what gets said in standup stays inside the company.
For a team that has stopped shipping and knows it.
Seats on the open rooms
You buy a block of seats and your people choose their own room from the catalogue. Different mornings, different neighbourhoods, strangers in the room. We invoice you once and nobody expenses anything.
For people who work from home and have run out of reasons to leave it.
A standup, run by someone outside the team
Fifteen minutes, three questions, a facilitator who does not report to anyone in the room. Blockers get said out loud because the person hearing them is not the person who set the deadline.
For a distributed team whose standup has become a status meeting.
The terms
Not an offsite, and not a perk.
An offsite is one good day that everybody remembers and nothing follows. This is twelve ordinary mornings with the same eight people, which is boring and which is why it works. It also is not a wellbeing benefit: nobody is being given anything, they are being given a deadline with witnesses.
- Invoiced, not expensed
- One invoice for the block, with a VAT receipt, before the run starts. No one on your team enters a card and no one chases a reimbursement.
- Eight people is the floor
- Below eight a closed room is quiet in the wrong way and there is nobody to be accountable to. Under that, seats on the open catalogue work better and cost less.
- Lisbon, the Cascais line, or a call
- Rooms we have stood in, or your office if it has a room that shuts and a table people can sit around. Online runs the same way: camera on, nobody talking.
- A named person can be swapped
- Somebody leaves, somebody joins, and the seat moves with a week's notice. The seat belongs to the company; the commitment belongs to whoever is sitting in it.
